Terriers Earn Split with 3rd Period Comeback

Down 1-0 after the first two periods, the Terriers got 3rd period goals from sophomore Andrew Glass (his first of the season) and senior Zach Cohen (pictured) for a 2-1 win Saturday night at Agganis Arena. Freshman Max Nicastro was credited with an assist for each goal, but for the second night in a row, Providence College goaltender Alex Beaudry nearly stole the game for the Friars, giving his team a great chance to win despite BU having the advantage in shots, 41-29. Kieran Millan was also strong, making 28 saves with just the one goal allowed.

BU is back in fourth place in Hockey East, jumping back over idle Northeastern, who now has a game in hand. BU controls its destiny for home ice since the final series of the season is a home-and-home with those Huskies, but first the Terriers will have a two-game road series in Burlington next weekend against the University of Vermont Catamounts.

Looking ahead
2010 recruit Sahir Gill scored his second goal in three games in the Vernon Vipers’ win 3-2 overtime win against Westside in BCHL action. Gill has 11 points in 16 games since returning to the Vipers in January.

Charlie Coyle had a pair of assists in the South Shore Kings’ 4-4 tie with the Jersey Hitmen. He has 62 points for the season.

2011 recruit Cason Hohmann scored a goal and an assist in Cedar Rapids’ 5-2 win over the NTDP U17s. He has a 6-21-27 line for the season.
