Terriers equaled their biggest scoring output of the season to take the opener of the weekend series with Maine, 7-4, at Agganis Arena. Red-shirt freshman Ross Gaudet launched BU’s attack his second two-goal game (he now has five in the past five contests; 10 for the year). Five other Terriers found the Maine net including Colby Cohen who notched his 12th and Zach Cohen who scored his 10th. Kieran Millan stopped 18 shots and Adam Kraus relieved him for the final four-and-a-half minutes.
The win brings BU’s overall and conference records to the .500 mark. If the Terriers can duplicate the win tomorrow, they’ll have an opportunity to reach fourth place in league plays.
Coach Jack Parker commented on the emergence of Gaudet, whose 10 goals have come on just 30 shots:
"He’s a very fast player. He’s one of our quickest skaters out there, and I think [strength and conditioning coach] Mike Boyle has made him. In one year, he’s taken him to a different body type, and it’s made him blossom.”
BU’s record vs. Maine in games at Agganis Arena now stands at 8-1-1.
Nick Bonino’s goal and assist bring him to 106 career points tying him with Doug Friedman on the all-atime scoring list.
Max Nicastro and Joe Pereira each had a pair of assists, as did Colby Cohen who has four multiple point game in the past ten.

2011 recruit Cason Hohmann scored his fourth goal of the season--to go with 20 assists--in Cedar Rapids' 9-6 win against Fargo.
