Game Day: BU vs. NU on Senior Night--UPDATED

Terriers enter the final regular season weekend with a chance to catch BC for first place, provided BU sweeps and Vermont can steal a game from the Eagles.

Tonight’s game at Agganis Arena is Senior Night and Chris Connolly, Kevin Gilroy, Kieran Millan, Grant Rollheiser, Ryan Ruikka (photo) and redshirt-junior Ross Gaudet to be honored following the game. Ruikka (photo), who overcame two seasons lost to injuries, is graduating with a masters degree in economics, after completing a dual major in economics and mathmatics.

Millan will make the start in goal tonight with Rollheiser expected to play tomorrow night at Matthews Arena.

Since the turn of the new year, BU has won 10 of 15 games with the Terriers' defensemen making major offensive contributions. The unit has tallied 49 points (17g, 32a) in those game Sophomore Garrett Noonan is tied for second nationally in goals by a defenseman with 11, while classmate Adam Clendening has at least one point in 11 of his last 16 games and has totaled 18 points (2g, 16a) during the stretch, including three three-assist efforts.

Former Terrier Charlie Coyle has signed a three-year entry contract with the Minnesota Wild. The Boston Hockey Blog talked with Coach Jack Parker about the development.

Looking back
Kevin Shattenkirk scored his eight goal and added two assists in St. Louis’ 5-2 win against Edmonton. The former BU captain has 31 points.

Former Terrier Nick Bonino made the news, not for scoring a goal, but instead for a Tweet. MSG Network reported that Bonino had tweeted: Random man at a sandwich shop just told me I look like Prince William...is that a good thing? #handsome?
