Linkorama



Matt O’Connor’s 31 save performance in BU’s 3-2 win at #1 New Hampshire earned him  Hockey East Player of the Week Honors.  O’Connor, who was co-Rookie of the Month for October,  also is tied for second place in the Army ROTC Three Stars Award competition.  And with its four-point weekend, BU was recognized as Team of the Week. Making the top performer list for the week:  Sahir Gill, Sam Kurker, Sean McGuire, Wade Megan and Garrett Noonan.

BU continues to inch up the national rankings, moving up to #6 in the USCHO poll. Terriers are 5th in the Pairwise rankings.

Sean Escobedo (44) and Alexx Privitera (43) are #1 and #2 in blocked shots in conference games.

BU completed the first semester without a single tie for the first time since 2004-05. Last season, the Terriers played just one tie, a 2-2 come-from-behind deadlock with UMass on Oct. 28. Two seasons ago—eight ties.

Looking ahead
2013 recruit Brendan Collier assisted on two goals, including the game-winner in the Valley Jr. Warriors 4-3 OT win against Apple Core. Collier is second on his team in points with 18 in 23 games.

Looking back
Charlie Coyle’s eighth goal of the season was the game winner for Houston, which edged Peoria, 3-2.

John McCarthy scored his third goal of the season in Worcester’s 3-2 win against Manchester.

Former All-American goalie John Curry earned his ninth win of the season and picked up an assist in ECHL Orlando’s 6-2 win against Ft. Wayne.

Chris Higgins scored a goal and an assist for Wheeling, but Corey Trivino assisted on two late goals for the Florida Everblades, who went on to win in a shootout, 5-4.

Women’s Team
While the men played tie-free hockey, the #7 Terriers, played a pair of ties with Minnesota-Duluth on the road this weekend. Saturday’s 2-2 tie was followed by a scoreless deadlock on Sunday.
