Sluggish start, better second period, then third-period domination. That familiar scenario is the quick summary of BU’s 5-2 win against Colgate in yesterday’s late afternoon matinee at Agganis Arena.

#1 ranked Terriers fell behind to the physical and hard-working Red Raiders on a first period backhander by Tyler Spink that beat Matt O’Connor high as Colgate out-shot BU 12-6. Early in the second with a man-advantage, BU knotted the score. Freshman Chase Phelps, joining the second power play unit, was stationed just outside the crease and rapped home a pass from senior assistant captain Cason Hohmann for his first collegiate goal.
