Curry played with injury

If you thought All-American goalie John Curry was a bit off his game in BU’s last few games this past season, you’re right and the reason is that he played with a torn labrum in his hip. Fluto Shinzawa reveals the injury in a June 13 post to the Boston Globe's Bruins’ blog. The quote also quotes Jack Parker saying Curry should have an NHL contract very soon.

Incoming freshman Colby Cohen, ranked 25th among North Americans by Central Scouting was the subject of a feature in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Cohen who displayed a blazing shot from the point in his Central Scouting video clip, was the top-scoring defenseman in the USHL last season with 60 points.

Kyle Woodlief’s RedLine Report rates Kevin Shattenkir as the sixth defenseman available in this year’s NHL entry draft. Calling Shattenkirk “one of the best pure finesse defensemen available, “ Woodlief points out that the 5-11 former U18 captain is “an excellent PP quarterback with good vision who has an uncanny knack for being able to get his shot past would-be blockers and on net through traffic.”
