Rollheiser to start vs. UVM; Noonan iffy

Boston Hockey Blog reports that senior Grant Rollheiser will be in goal for BU tomorrow night against Vermont because Kieran Millan is being benched for one game for skipping class. The post notes that the Terrier coaches “had wanted to get Rollheiser some game action this weekend anyways.”

Sophomore defenseman Garrett Noonan, who missed the BC game with an ankle sprain, is day-to-day and will be a gametime decision, according BHH.

Frozen Four
Tickets for the Frozen Four, to be played in Tampa this season, go on sale tomorrow. Is it just a coincidence that a former Hobey Baker Award winner, now on the Tampa Bay Lightning blueline, is featured in the advertising?

Looking ahead
NHL Central Scouting released portions of its preliminary “Ones to Watch” list. Among draft-eligibles playing the USHL, 2013 recruit and former Cushing Academy standout Robbie Baillargeon was ranked 11th. United States of Hockey’s Chris Peters’ commented:

Coming over from high school hockey, Baillargeon needed some time to adjust, but by all accounts, he’s right where he needs to be now. He’s been a point-per-game player on one of the better offensive teams in the USHL with six goals and five assists in 11 games. The one thing Baillargeon will have to prove is that he is not just a product of a high-scoring team. That said, the skill set is right where it needs to be and he should continue to rise.

Looking back
In ESPN’s Victoria Matiash’s weekly ranking of the top 75 NHL defenseman, Ryan Whitney is #25 while Kevin Shattenkirk has moved up from #37 to #29 .

Women’s team
The Daily Free Press previews weekend games against Connecticut and Providence College. Captain Jenn Wakefield returns to the lineup after missing two weeks to play for Team Canada in the Four Nations tournament where she scored two game-winners en route to a silver medal.
