Lane paces US win in World U18s

2012 recruit Matt Lane led the way with a goal and an assist in Team USA’s 4-0 win against Finland in the IIHF World U18 Championships being played in the Czech Republic. 2013 recruit Danny O’Regan assisted on a power play goal and 2012 recruit d-man Matt Grzelcyk had strong game at both ends of the ice. United States of Hockey’s Chris Peters commented on Lane’s performance:

Matthew Lane – Lane had two points with a goal and assist. Additionally, Lane was a threat in all areas of the ice due to his good foot speed and aggressive play. Lane’s goal was a beauty and it kept the momentum moving in the right direction for Team USA. That second goal really took the wind out of Finland’s sails.

Looking ahead

2013 recruit Robbie Baillargeon, who has 47 points in 53 games for Indiana and who was ranked #50 among North American skaters in the final NHL Central Scouting draft rankings, has been invited to the NHL Draft Combine in Toronto late next month.
