▪ Power play is looking better with more movement on both
units and good creativity.
▪ BU needs to come out with more enthusiasm from the get-go.
Scoring first would be an enormous advantage for this team going forward.
▪ Second, third and fourth lines must be more productive. Allowing
opponents to concentrate on the first line gives them an advantage that good
teams will use.
▪ The D is playing somewhat more solid in own end. BU is a fast-attacking team but doesn't seem
to be able to grind for long periods against slower paced teams. This should change
as the young defense gains more experience.
Head coach David Quinn on special teams, defense in the third period and
Jack Eichel’s speed:
“And obviously special teams were the difference. We get a power-play goal, and then we get a shorthanded goal. Then I thought we did a really good job of defending the net front in the third period. … A couple of times it looked like they had great chances and last second we got our sticks down and got pieces of some dangerous situations.”“I mean Jack has the ability to separate, change speeds and he’s got a lot of deception in his game. Sometimes it doesn’t look like he’s going that fast but when he starts blowing by people. Just a big time play by a big-time play by a big-time player — two big-time players because Danny O’Regan has had a phenomenal year and those two guys have really done a great job.”

line in 12 USPHL games.
Looking back
Former BU captain Garrett Noonan scored his second goal of
the season in Milwaukee’s 2-1 win
against Rockford.
Former BU blueliner Eric Gryba registered his second assist
of the season in Ottawa’s 4-2
loss to Calgary.
Kevin Shattenkirk assisted on two goals and earned
second-star honors as the Blues defeated the Caps, 4-1.
Women’s
Team
#6
Terriers defeated Connecticut, 3-2, behind a pair of goals from sophomore
Maddie Elia, including the game-winner with 30 seconds left in regulation. The win, at UConn’s Freitas Ice Forum, raises
BU’s record to 7-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the conference.
After
a scoreless first period, Elia put BU on the board in the second with a wrist
shot from the top of the right circle. Late in the period, freshman Victoria
Bach scored her sixth goal of the season and third in the past three games to
double the lead.
But
after being limited to 12 shots in the first two period, the Huskies scored
twice in less than two minutes to knot score early in the third. Elia’s game-winner
came on a wrister from the slot following a pass from junior Rebecca Russo.
Terrier
captain Marie-Philip Poulin returned to the line-up after missing five games.
