The 2015 U.S.
Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Celebration, set for Thursday, Dec. 17, at
the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, is sold out. This year’s inductee
class includes Chris
Drury, BU’s first Hobey Baker Award winner, a two-time first-team
All-American and the Terriers’ all-time goal-scoring leader with 113. He also
is the only player to win the NHL’s Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year
immediately after winning the Hobey. Drury’s 16 playoff points helped the
Avalanche win the 2001 Stanley Cup.
Also at the event, former Terrier skater and assistant coach and longtime NHL scout Bob Crocker will be a
recipient of the Lester Patrick Award for outstanding service to hockey in the
U.S. Crocker served as Jack Kelley’s assistant coach and recruiter on Terrier
teams that reached the Frozen Four four times and won national championships in
1971 and 1972. After stints as head coach at the University of Pennsylvania and
as assistant general manager of the Hartford Whalers, he became an NHL scout,
first for the Rangers and then with the Kings. The “Dean of New England Scouts”
has three Stanley Cup rings to go with his BU championship rings.
