Player of the Week honors for O'Regan; 2018 trio win Youth Olympic gold

Senior assistant captain Danny O’Regan was named Hockey East’s Warrior Player of the Week following his four-goal performance in two games against New Hampshire. With 146 career points, O’Regan is within one point of tying Pete MacArthur for most career points since 2000. He's also top active NCAA scorer. Captain Matt Grzelcyk (1G, 2A) and freshman Jordan Greenway (3A) were named to the weekly top performers list.

Terriers remain at #9 in both weekly polls: USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine. In the PairWise rankings, BU is tied for eighth with Denver and next weekend’s opponent, Notre Dame.

Looking ahead

2018 recruits Jack DeBoer, Tyler Weiss and Jake Wise each scored a goal in Team USA’s 5-2 win over Canada in the gold medal game of the Youth Olympics in Lilliehammer, Norway. DeBoer assisted on the first U.S. goal and then connected on a power play to increase the lead. Weiss and Wise added empty-net goals to seal the victory. Wise led all U.S. scorers with10 points and was co-tournament leader. Weiss was second with nine and DeBoer was fourth with seven.

2019 recruit Joel Farabee scored a goal and an assist in the Selects Academy’s 5-3 win over the Jersey Hitman in the Selects’ first playoff game. Farabee led the team in regular-season scoring with 49 points.

With a goal and an assist, 2019 recruit Logan Cockerill (photo) had a hand in both U17 scores, but Muskegon took a 5-2 victory over the NTDP squad.
 

Looking back

Thirty-six years ago today, Mike Eruzione fired the shot heard ‘round the hockey world, Jimmy Craig barred the door and you know the rest. Jack O’Callahan and David Silk completed the Terrier gold-medal quarter. Always fun to relive that final minute with Al Michael’s classic call.

Women’s Team

Former Terrier captain and two-time Olympic gold medalist Marie-Philip Poulin has won the Angela James Bowl as the CWHL’s top scorer (23-23-46).
