Throwback Thursday
Twenty-five years ago today, March 10, 1991, BU won its second Hockey East
tournament championship, defeating top-seed Maine, 4-3 on Shawn McEachern’s
overtime goal. The All-American from Waltham, Mass., took a Tony Amonte pass in full
stride at the Black Bears’ blueline, beat a defender and backhanded a shot
through Garth Snow’s five hole. The ’90-’91 Terriers would go on to the NCAA title
game, falling to Northern Michigan in triple overtime.
