The USHL’s regular season has concluded and 2022 recruit Jeremy Wilmer of Tri-City claimed the league scoring title with 98 points (25G,73A). As Smaht Scouting’s Paul Zuk tweeted, “Wilmer has been on an absolute tear since joining Tri City in the @USHL. He’s playing with a chip on his shoulder after being unselected in the Draft last season, and his hard work is paying dividends!”
The Storm, which claimed the league’s Anderson Cup for top regular-season record, sat its top players including Wilmer on Saturday. He had a goal and an assist in Friday ‘s win giving him 28 points (5G,23A) in his last 13 games. His league-high 73 assists broke a Storm franchise record previously held by Seattle Kraken and Yale forward Jaden Schwartz.

2023 recruit Doug Grimes scored his eighth goal Saturday in Lincoln’s 3-2 overtime loss to the Storm.
In Team USA’s first games at the World U18 championships (8-3 over Canada and 6-2 over The Czech Republic), 2022 recruits Lane Hutson and Devin Kaplan each had an assist in both wins. Prior to the tournament’s start, Chris Peters profiled the tournament’s top players, including Hutson, for The Daily Faceoff.
Lane Hutson, D, USA: He is the most dynamic defenseman in this draft class in terms of skill, but at 5-8, 148, most teams are especially reluctant to view him as a top defense candidate for this draft. He played in this event last year and really broke out, earning a selection as one of the top three players for Team USA. He averaged better than a point per game from the back end, which only one other NTDP defenseman – Flyers prospect Cam York – has done in his U18 season.
2023 recruit Jack Harvey scored his 26th goal and added his 23rd assist in Chicago’s 6-5 win against Muskegon in the Steel’s final regular season game.
2024 recruit Brandon Svoboda joined USHL Youngstown after completing his 16U season with Pittsburgh Penguins Elite, and scored his first USHL goal in the Phantoms’ 7-3 win against the NTDP U17s. The 6’2” forward had a 24-26-50 scoring line in 50 games with the Penguins.
