Daily Free Press hockey writer Belle Fraser, in her first assignment for College Hockey News, talks with the Terriers about the cultural shift rooted in accountability, preparation and an “everything matters” attention to detail that Head Coach Jay Pandolfo has injected into the BU locker room.
Looking ahead
Six Terrier recruits are on NHL Central Scouting’s early players to watch list: defensemen Aiden Celebrini (AJHL Brooks), Kai Janviriya (NTDP U18s) and Gavin McCarthy (Youngstown) and forwards Jack Harvey (Chicago) and Brandon Svoboda (photo, Youngstown) all received a C rating. NTDP U18 goalie Michael Chambre, who has yet to play this season, received an LV (limited viewing) rating.
Looking back
Clayton Keller assisted on three goals in the Coyotes’ 6-3
win against Columbus. This one was extra special, providing some déjà vu for
Terrier fans.

Jake Oettinger stopped 26 of 28 shots—including one of this backdoor play—in his return to the TD Garden ice for the first time since the 2019 Hockey East tournament. However, the Bruins came away with a 3-1 win, with Matt Grzelcyk assisting on Taylor Hall’s game-winner.

John Buccigross talked about playing in college venues with Oettinger, Keller, Jack Eichel, Trevor Zegras and another guy. The current Terriers will get a first-hand look at Mullett Arena in January when they head to Arizona for The Desert Classic.
