Looking ahead


Six Terrier recruits are on NHL Central Scouting’s early players to watch list: defensemen Aiden Celebrini (AJHL Brooks), Kai Janviriya (NTDP U18s) and Gavin McCarthy (Youngstown) and forwards Jack Harvey (Chicago) and Brandon Svoboda (photo, Youngstown) all received a C rating. NTDP U18 goalie Michael Chambre, who has yet to play this season, received an LV (limited viewing) rating.

 

Looking back

Clayton Keller assisted on three goals in the Coyotes’ 6-3 win against Columbus. This one was extra special, providing some déjà vu for Terrier fans.

Evan Rodrigues scored the deciding shootout goal as the Avalanche beat the Rangers, 3-2. 

Matt Nieto’s breakaway goal gave the Sharks a 2-1 lead early in the second period, but Vegas rallied for a 4-2 win.

Jake Oettinger stopped 26 of 28 shotsincluding one of this backdoor playin his return to the TD Garden ice for the first time since the 2019 Hockey East tournament. However, the Bruins came away with a 3-1 win, with Matt Grzelcyk assisting on Taylor Hall’s game-winner.

John Buccigross talked about playing in college venues with Oettinger, Keller, Jack Eichel, Trevor Zegras and another guy. The  current Terriers will get a first-hand look at Mullett Arena in January when they head to Arizona for The Desert Classic.
