Head Coach Jay Pandolfo took questions from the media about the upcoming series against #6 Michigan at Yost Arena in Ann Arbor. He explained:

“We’re looking forward to a fun weekend. It’s going to be a good challenge. Michigan was one of the top teams in the country last year and is playing well coming into this series.

“When you’re playing against a high-powered offense, you have to make sure your details are good, especially in the D zone. You want to do the best job to keep everything on the outside. They’re a good team that’s going to make plays. We’re going to try to limit their high-quality chances. And that’s the mindset we have to have going into this game against Michigan.

“Having Wilmer Skoog back in the line-up is certainly going to help us. I expect our leaders to play really well. They’re excited. It’s a little bit of a measuring stick to see where we’re at."

Noting BU’s struggles outside of Hockey East in recent years, he added, “we need to do better in non-conference games. It’s important for our league to do well in these match-ups.”

►BU Athletics hockey writer Scott Weighart’s first feature story of the season addresses the Terriers’ need to improve their fall semester performance, which in recent years hasn’t matched the second half results. Also discussed is Coach Pandolfo’s mantra of “perform every day” and consistency, as well as the team’s “Everything Matters” motto.
