The 6-3-3- Huskies are coming off a series with BC where they tied the Eagles 4-4—rallying late from three goals down—and won the shootout, then dropped a 3-2 decision. The prior week NU swept New Hampshire.
The top scorer is All-American forward Aiden McDonough with 16 points, however, he’ll miss tonight’s game due to a fighting suspensions follow the BC game. And senior defenseman Jayden Strubel also will sit out after being DQ’d. Junior Gunnarwolfe Fontaine and Justin Hryckowian each have 14 points. Fontaine has a team best eight goals. Freshman Cam Lund—a teammate of Ryan Greene at Green Bay last season—scored the tying goal and shootout winner last Friday.
Sophomore goalie Devon Levi, also an All-American and national rookie of the year, has a 1.88 GAA and a .941. Last season, he shut out the Terriers in one game and limited them to two the next night in a shootout win for the Huskies.
Addressing the challenge of facing Levi, Head Coach Jay Pandolfo explained, “The big thing going against him is you have to create second chances. He doesn’t give up too many goals on the first shot. We have to make sure we’re getting to the net and we’re finding rebounds and recovering pucks. We’ve to find a way to create second chances against him.”
The absence of two important Huskies won’t impact his team, Pandolfo asserted. ““We like to think our mindset is, it doesn’t matter, who we’re playing, who’s in the lineup. We really want to focus on how we’re gonna play. That’s the big thing for us… we’re really focused on playing our game.”
He added that everyone is available this weekend, including Jeremy Wilmer, who missed the UMass series. BU, he said is looking to carry over the strong play of the sweep and “continue to grow our game from the defense out.”

followed by Greene (11 points) whose 3G,3A effort earned HE Player of the Week
honors. Freshmen brothers Lane Hutson, 10 points, and Quinn Hutson, 8 after
2G,2A vs. UMass, continue to contribute. Junior Luke Tuch, skating with Greene and Quinn, contributed three assists and has 7 points.

After a 12-goal barrage against UMass in a weekend series, it looked like we got a glimpse of BU's full powers when they're going. Freshman Ryan Greene (CHI) had a six-point weekend to climb the team's scoring list and show the nation that there are quite a few weapons up and down this lineup. The Terriers have won three straight against ranked opponents. After a rough start to the season, it looks like Drew Commesso (CHI) is settling in. He got both starts against UMass and allowed just three goals on 50 shots to improve to 4-1-0 on the season.

2023 recruit Gavin McCarthy has been named to the U.S. Junior Select Team that will compete in the World Junior A Challenge beginning Dec. 11 in Cornwall, Ontario. McCarthy, a right-shot defenseman for USHL Muskegon, has 10 points—all assists—in 13 games for the Lumberjacks. Projected to be a second-round pick in the next NHL Entry Draft, McCarthy signed his national letter of intent last week.
Chicago Steel head coach Mike Garman explained what makes 2023 recruit Jack Harvey, the USHL Forward of the Week and leading point- and goal-scorer, such a force for the Steel.

A highlight-reel goal by Matt Nieto provided the Long Beach, Calif., native’s 100th career point, but the Sharks fell to Detroit, 7-4. It was his third of the season.

Six Terriers were on the TD Garden ice in the Bruins’ 4-1 win against the Flyers. For Boston: Charlie Coyle, AJ Greer, Matt Grzelczk and Charlie McAvoy. For Philly: Joel Farabee and recently call-up Max Willman. Earlier in the week, Kieffer Bellows was in the Flyers’ line-up. He had been acquired on waivers from the Islanders last month. Of the six, only McAvoy hit the score sheet with an assist.
