Following Wednesday's opening round of the Hockey East Playoffs, the #5/6 Terrier learned they'll host Vermont in Saturday’s afternoon's quarterfinal game at Agganis Arena.
The 11th seed Cats upset #6 Maine, 4-2, while #8 BC defeated UMass, 5-2, and #7 Providence edged New Hampshire, 2-1 in overtime.
BU visited Vermont two weeks ago and swept the two-game series, 5-3 and 3-0, with the Cats putting up a good fight in the first game.

Award Season Begins (New Outcomes All-Rookie)
Hockey East began announcing its awards for the season revealing the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team, which includes Lane Hutson and Ryan Greene. Hutson was a unanimous choice. Interestingly, the league’s coaches voted five forwards and no goalie to the team. Other selections were forwards Kenny Connors (UMass), Cutter Gauthier (BC), Cam Lund (NU) and Matthew Wood (UConn). NU’s Hunter McDonald was the other defenseman selected.
Lane Hutson garnered two other awards: With 34 points (9g,25a), he was the league games scoring champion with Matt Brown and Merrimack’s Alex Jeffries the runners-up with 30 each. He also claimed the PNC Bank Three Stars Award, edging out Northeastern’s Devon Levi. Hutson and Brown tied for the overall scoring title with 43 apiece.

More Kudos
Along with the Player of the Week honors for Sam Stevens and Rookie of the Week recognition for Lane Hutson, two Terriers made the Hockey East Weekly Top Performers list: Quinn Hutson scored twice in Friday’s 6-4, including his fifth game-winner goal of the season. Drew Commesso was a wall in goal Saturday stopped 39 shots en route to his second shutout in three games. His weekend save percentages of .938 was tops for conference goalies who played twice.
Stevens was the fourth Terrier to earn Player of the Week honors. Lane Hutson has earned top rookie honors six times and Ryan Greene did so once. Dom Fensore was named Defender of the Week three times and Case McCarthy once. Top goalies to Drew Commesso once.
