#3 Terriers (3-0-0) make their first road trip of the season, traveling to Grand Forks for a two-game series with #7 North Dakota (2-1-0). Friday’s game is set for 8:07 p.m. ET with a live stream available from NCHC.tv (subscription).
A year ago, the Fighting Hawks visited Agganis with the teams splitting two games. BU won the first game, 3-2, on Luke Tuch’s power-play goal. UND took game two, 5-4 in overtime, despite a Lane Hutson hat trick.
While BU played the Fighting Hawks in North Dakota in 2017, that was at the Regionals in Fargo with the Terriers winning, in double overtime on Charlie McAvoy's goal. The team's last visit to Englestad Arena in Grand Forks was in November 2012, Jack Parker’s 40th and final
season as head coach. The teams split the series with each winning 4-2.

After defeating Providence, 5-2, in the US Hockey Hall of Fame game, the Fighting Hawks defeated Minnesota State, 3-2, before losing to the Mavericks, 3-0.
Leading scorers are senior Cameron Berg and freshman Sacha Boisvert—a 2024 first-round pick by Chicago—both with four points. Grad student Carter Wilkie, who was added through the portal, rang up 41 points last season for RIT, BU’s opponent in the NCAA Regionals. Mac Swanson, another freshman, was, like Boisvert, a top USHL scorer.
The defense is led by sophomore Jake Livanavage, an NCHC all-rookie last year, and a teammate of Jack Harvey and Macklin Celebrini with the Chicago Steel. New to the defense are Andrew Strathman, a former teammate of Sascha Boumedienne at Youngstown, and EJ Emery from the NTDP U18s and the Rangers’ first round pick last June.
In both of UND’s wins, transfer T.J. Semptimphelter was in goal. Before spending a season with Arizona State, he was at Northeastern backing up Devon Levi. In the 2022 Beanpot Final, he was in goal, opposed by Vinny Duplessis, when Dylan Peterson scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for BU’s 31st tournament title.

► College Hockey Insider examined the top D1 free agents who will be pursued by NHL teams after their seasons end, including goalie Mathieu Caron.
(G) Mathieu Caron, Boston University
Caron had a rough start to the 2023-24 season but was one of the best goalies in the country in the second half. He'll get a lot of attention just playing at BU. Boston invited him to their development camp last summer, and I think they see a lot of similarities between Caron and Ryan Bischel, who they signed out of Notre Dame this spring.
Quinn Hutson, who was not drafted, also is a free agent, although after attending Toronto's summer development camp, indicated he'll likely sign with the Maple Leafs after this season.
►Last season, the Terriers' roster had three sets of brothers. This year, just one: junior Quinn Hutson and freshman Cole Hutson

BU is coming off a two-game sweep of Maine, winning 2-1 and 2-0. Freshman Lola Reid is the leading scorer with a 3-5-8 line, followed by captain Tamara Giaquinto with 3-2-5 and Lilli Welcke with 2-2-4. With five starts under her belt, senior netminder Callie Shanahan has a 1.07 GAA with a .959 save percentage with two shutouts.
BU’s overall record against the Orange is 1-0-2. The most recent meeting was a 6-1 Terrier win at Walter Brown Arena paced by Sydney Healey’s two goals.
