Super Bowl Sunday Linkorama

The Boston Herald talked with junior defenseman Doyle Somerby about his evolving role on the Terriers' blueline and his earliest Beanpot memories.

The 2016 Charity Beanpot Challenge is set for tomorrow (Monday) with games at Agganis Arena beginning at 2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. The event raises funds for the Travis Roy Foundation and the Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation, and this year it will also support injured Boston Pride skater Denna Laing. Event details

The Boston Globe talked with former Terrier defenseman and power play specialist Gary Fay, who has been flying back to Boston for the Beanpot the past several years. Fay, who scored 102 points during his BU career and played for four ECAC championship teams, spent seven seasons as a Northeastern assistant coach.

The Buffalo News examined the career of 1960s Terrier standout Eddie Wright, who became the first black head hockey coach in NCAA history at the University of Buffalo. Wright, who skated with Herb Wakabayashi and Serge Boily for Coach Jack Kelley, helped launched the UB varsity hockey program and also became an assistant professor.
