Last night, Northeastern won its first Hockey East Championship
since 1988, defeated UMass Lowell, 3-2.
After a dismal start to their season, the Huskies went 20-1-2 in their
last 23 games with the sole defeat coming at the hands of BU in the Beanpot
opener, 3-1.
Looking ahead
2018 recruit Tyler Weiss scored the overtime game-winner for Don Mills as the Flyers edged the Red Wings, 4-3, to move into the OHL Cup semifinals Saturday morning. It was the second goal of the game for the North Carolina native. Later in the day, the Flyers were eliminated by York Simicoe, 4-1. Alex Chiasson scored an unassisted shorthanded goal as the
Senators blanked Montreal, 5-0.
Nick Bonino assisted on a pair of goals in Pittsburgh’s 4-1
defeat of Philadelphia.
Charlie Coyle assisted on one goal and scored in the
shootout as Minnesota edged Carolina, 3-2.
