Seniors Earn Hockey East Honors; NCAA fate still uncertain

Seniors Matt Grzelcyk and Danny O'Regan were named Hockey East First Team All-Stars and classmate Ahti Oksanen was an honorable mention, as the league's top awards were handed out at the annual banquet on Thursday evening at the Royal Sonesta.  Grzelcyk repeated as a first-team All-Star while O’Regan was named to the second team last season.

BU's seed and game location for the NCAA regionals remain uncertain following last night's conference tournament games, including Lowell's triple overtime win against Providence and Northeastern's upset of BC. Several scenarios would give BU a #2 seed, while others would make them a #3. CHN's Adam Wodon explores some of the bracketology possibilities.  Check back for updates.

BU’s Club Hockey Team made its first-ever appearance in the ACHA Division 2 National Tournament  on Friday, falling to Lindenwood University-Belville.

Looking ahead

2017 recruit David Farrance (photo) scored a pair of first-period goals for the NTDP U17s in their 5-3 win over Sioux Falls. The blueliner from Victor, N.Y., who also assisted 2017 recruit Logan Cockerill who scored the U17s first goal, has 21 points (8G, 13A). Cockerill has 19 points.

2017 recruit Hank Crone assisted on the game-winning goal in Fargo's 2-0 win over Sioux City. Crone, who was traded to Fargo from Omaha earlier this year, has a combined 34 points in 53 games.   

The 2016-17 NTDP evaluation camp began Friday in Plymouth, Michigan. Four future Terrier forwards are among the 48 players on the camp roster: 2018 recruits Jake Wise, Jack DeBoer and Tyler Weiss, and 2019 recruit Joel Farabee (photo).

Looking back

Alex Chiasson scored his sixth goal for the Senators in a 3-1 loss to Buffalo. Jack Eichel assisted on the Sabres third goal and now has 49 points (22G, 27A).
