Former U-18 player and current sophomore forward Matt Nieto (photo) led the way for BU with a goal and an assist as the Terriers and USA Under 18 team played to a 3-3 tie. Freshman Evan Rodrigues also recorded two assists in the effort for BU.
The U-18 opened the scoring with a goal from BU 2012 recruit Matthew Lane before three consecutive Boston University goals in a span of just over 5 minutes from freshman Alexx Privitera, Nieto, and junior Sean Escobedo. Team USA answered midway through the second period with a goal by North Dakota recruit Stefan Matteau, assisted by BU recruit Matt Grzelcyk. Finally, a third period goal by Nikolas Olsson of U-18 finished the scoring.
Grant Rollheiser started in net for BU and made 30 save on 33 shots faced. BU also put 48 shots on goal, including 17 in the 1st and 3rd periods, but a 45-save effort from USA netminder and University of Michigan commit Jared Rutledge kept the game to a tie.

The list includes 13 names for Boston University: Ron Anderson, Joe Sacco, Bob Crocker, Mark Mullen, Jack Ferreira, Chris Kelleher, Paul Fenton, Jeff Kealty, Scott Lachance, Chris O'Sullivan, Mike Sullivan, Rick Meagher, and John Lilley.
Kevin Shattenkirk led the way offensively with a goal and assist for the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night en route to a 4-0 victory over his former team, the Colorado Avalanche.
