Hockey East announced its all-rookie
team, which includes a pair of Terriers, Danny O’Regan, who led all freshmen
in scoring, and Matt Grzelcyk (photo) , who was second among first-year
defensemen in scoring. The same pair
made the All-Rookie team selected by Hockey
East Writers and Broadcasters Association.
The Boston Globe examines the standout freshman season by O'Regan, who, linemate Matt Nieto says, has "the whole package." The son of former BU captain, Tom O'Regan, he is the team's current points leader with 36 and could be the first freshman to finish as top scorer since Tony Amonte 23 seasons ago. Meanwhile, The Boston Herald looks at Nieto's emergence as a team leader and his current hot streak that has produced 11 goals in the past 11 games, enabling the speedster from California to reach the 100-career-point milestone.
