Former BU All-American and Hockey East Player of the Year John Curry,
recalled to the NHL last week by the Wild, will make his first start tonight in
a Minnesota uniform with Kevin Shattenkirk and the St. Louis Blues providing
the opposition. The game airs tonight on NBC Sports Network at 8 p.m. CT/7 p.m.
ET.
Curry’s last NHL start came during the 2009-10 season as a member of the Penguins. Before his four seasons at BU, the Shorewood, Minn., native was a standout at the Breck School, leading the Mustangs to a state championship and then became a New England Prep West All-Star at the Taft School. At BU he led the Terriers to the 2006 Hockey East tournament championship and in 2006-07 was Hockey East Player of the Year, first-team All-American and a Hobey Baker Award finalist.

USA Today talked with NHL executives about 2014 recruit Jack Eichel, considered one of the top prospects for the 2015 draft. Before leaving with the NTDP U18s for Finland to compete in the IIHF World U18 Championships, the right-shot center from Chelmsford, Mass., indicated he’ll be looking to earn the top spot in next year’s draft.
The Omaha Lancers announced the signing of 2016 recruit Hank Crone to a USHL tender.
