The Daily Free Press has published
its annual hockey
preview issue and has done an exceptional job of over-viewing the upcoming
season and focusing on some of the players who may be keys to the Terriers’
goal of more tournament hardware and a return to the Frozen Four. You can look
at the individual articles below or find the entire preview issue in pdf form
here. (Note: Women’s Team articles are
linked further down.)

To no one’s surprise, Hobey
Baker Award winner Jack Eichel, who was the second draft pick overall in June,
is set to center the Sabres second line and will become the 72nd Terrier
to play in an NHL game. Matt O’Connor,
who signed a free-agent deal with Ottawa, was expected to begin his pro career
in AHL Binghamton, but with an injury to the Senators’ backup goalie, the 6’6”
netminder, who earned second team All-Hockey East last season, made the opening
roster and with the Senators playing three games in four nights, he may get a
start this week. Tonight, Eichel’s Sabres take on the Senators, with OC
watching from the bench.

Next Step; report on O’Connor
UPDATE: Eichel scored his first NHL goal, but it was the Sabres only goal in a 3-1 loss.
