BU
has announced an 18-game home schedule for 2016-17, including 11 conference
games, five non-conference games and exhibitions games against the University
of Prince Edward Island (Oct. 1) and the NTDP U18s (Oct. 6). The latter
exhibition game will give Terrier fans a chance to see recruits David Farrance,
Brady Tkachuk and Logan Cockerill. All eight Friday night games have a 7:30
p.m. puck drop while the remaining 10 games begin at 7:00 p.m.
ESPN.com reports on the social media stardom of Maisie Bonino, the five-month old
daughter of former Terriers Nick and Lauren Bonino. Nick, whose Penguins hold a 3-1 series lead over the Sharks in the Stanley Cup finals, starred for the Terriers for three seasons, including the 2008-09 NCAA championship campaign, while the former Lauren Cherewyk played four seasons for BU's women's team.
Bonino's role as playmaker for linemates Phil Kessel and Carl Haglin has been a key to the Penguins drive for the Cup, but so, too, have been his defensive efforts. In Pittsburgh's 3-1 win in game four, Bonino blocked four shots, giving him a playoffs leading total of 18.
