Keeping in mind that comments are based upon one game against soft competition:

OVERALL: BU broke out of their own end of the ice very well, similar to the second half of last season.  They displayed speed and crisp passing in this regard.  In the first period, BU was unable to establish sustained possession time in the offensive zone.  They corrected this shortcoming in the second period.  The power play was sloppy, especially during the extended 5-on 3-in the first period.

INDIVIDUAL:
●Willman: Displayed speed and sharp instincts.
●Wise: Was able to find open ice close to the Acadia net, in one instance using the free space to score his goal.
●Farrance: Appeared to have added bulk to his frame.  Played with greater assertiveness and confidence.
●Crotty: Very impressive.  Stood up opponents at the blueline, won battles in the corners and in front of the net.
●DeBoer: Knocked Acadia defensemen off the puck deep in the offensive zone a couple of times.
●Blixt:  Was flat-footed at least twice before reacting to an oncoming forward.
●Oettinger: Largely unchallenged.  Moved well the few times Acadia did have decent scoring opportunities.  Stopped a clean and then partial breakaway during a short span in the second period.
●Farabee, Cheremeta, Quercia, etc: Just didn't see anything worthy of comment either way.

Looking back

Making his first appearance at the TD Garden since March when BU beat Providence in the Hockey East championship game, Brady Tkachuk made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators on Monday afternoon.  The host Bruins came away with a 6-3 win, as Charlie McAvoy assisted on three goals.

In another Monday matinee, Jack Eichel scored Buffalo's first two goals as the Sabres defeated the Vegas Golden Knights, 4-2.
