UPDATED:Jack Eichel: 11th Terrier to Win the Stanley Cup; Celebrini B'day; Svoboda draft profile

Graphic featuring photos of 2023 Stanley Cup Jack Eichel as a player for both Vegas and BU.

2015 Hobey Baker Award winner and All-American Jack Eichel joins 10 other Terriers who have raised the Stanley Cup: Jay Pandolfo (2), Scott Young (2) Nick Bonino (2), Mike Sullivan (2), Alex Chiasson, Kevin Shattenkirk, Joe DiPenta, Chris Drury, Ed Ronan and Shawn McEachern.

Eichel, who had a trio of assists in Vegas' game five win against Florida, was the top point scorer in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 26, as well as the assist leader with 20. The North Chelmsford, Mass., native was particularly effective throughout the post-season with O-zone entries, in the defensive zone and at the face off dot.

NHL.com wrote "Whether it was scoring, setting up his Golden Knights teammates on their goals, backchecking, Eichel was tremendous."

Eichel's linemate Jonathan Marchessault, who was awarded the Conn Smythe trophy as playoff MVP, said, "Honestly, ever since he came in last year, we were just a different team and he's a game-changer for our group. He's been unbelievable and this (Conn Smythe) trophy could've definitely gone to him, too."

The Athletic's  Jesse Granger wrote: "He played winning hockey all the way through, playing an incredible checking game to close things out. Eichel was tenacious on the forecheck, incredible on the backcheck, and it all ended with him skating around with the Stanley Cup lifted high above his head."

Eichel  came to BU as a 17-year-old, but he turned 18 in October of 2014. Jay Pandolfo also was a 17-year-old freshmen in the 1992-93 season, turning 18 in December.

2024 recruit Brandon Svoboda, a 6'3", 212 lb., right-shot center was at the recent NHL Draft Combine in Buffalo, where he was identified as one of my athletic prospects. He had a 16-10-26 scoring line for Clark Cup champ Youngstown in his first USHL season and is expected to be a key performer for the Phantoms next season
