The regular-season schedule for first semester was completed with Wednesday’s 4-2 win at UMass. Before going on break, #13 Terriers will be on the Agganis ice Friday for their annual match-up with the NTDP U18s, giving fans a chance to see some of the top prospects in the next recruit class. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. with ESPN+ providing the live stream. Following the game, the Terriers will hold an autograph session.
In last season's exhibition game, the U18s won, 8-2, powered by Cole Eiserman's hat trick and a pair of goals by Cole Hutson.
Four BU 2025 recruits are rostered on the U18s: RD Charlie Trethewey, who received an A-rating on Central Scouting’s preliminary watch list; LW Jack Murtagh (B), LC Conrad Fondrk (B) and RD Carter Amico (B). Amico is out for the rest of the season following leg surgery.
Currently, Murtagh is second in scoring with a 10-9-19 line in 19 game, despite missing nine games due to injury. His ten goals are tied for the team lead. Fondrk is a point behind with 18 (6G,12A) and Trethewey has 4-6-10, tied for most points by defensemen.
THFB recently posted profiles of each of the four recruits from scout and journalist Gabriel Foley. Click here to read them.
Last month, The Athletic’s Scott Wheeler ranked Trethewey #24 for the 2025 draft, Murtagh #29 and Fondrk #43 in his top 64. Honorable mention for Amico.

►New England Hockey Journal published a feature story on Amico, tracing the 6'5" defenseman's path from Westbrook, Maine, to the NTDP and next season to BU.
As Carter progressed in his career, going from the Casco Bay Spartans to Seacoast Performance Academy and Mount St. Charles, the dream of playing for the NTDP and college hockey became realistic. People started to take notice.
Former NHL defenseman Frank Bathe, a friend of [Amico's grandfather] Glenn’s through the local hockey scene, sat in the stands as his son Landon coached a 12-year-old Carter. After watching him on the ice, Bathe told Glenn that Carter would make the NHL someday.
“(It was) just hearing everyone say ‘raw talent,’ words like ‘potential,’ ” said Carter, who would have coaches and evaluators approach him after games as he got older. “Even just the confidence on the ice sometimes. … (I started) putting the pieces together and realizing, ‘OK, I can do this.’ ”

Looking back
Drew Commesso made his NHL debut, playing the final 11 minutes of the Blackhawks 5-4 loss to the Islanders, saving both shots he faced. He is the 96th Terrier to play in the NHL and ninth BU goalie, joining Jake Oettinger, Matt O'Connor, John Curry, Rick DiPietro, Michel Larocque, Cleon Daskalakis, Jim Craig and John Aiken.
Commesso's Terrier teammate Alex Vlasic assisted on two Chicago goals and logged 25:33 TOI on the blueline.

He won't turn 19 until next summer.
Matt Nieto, injured for much of the season, scored his first goal, assisted by Matt Grzelcyk, as the Penguins routed Montreal, 9-2. Grzelcyk had two helpers and now has 14 for the season.

Lane Hutson’s franchise-record point streak by a rookie defenceman ended at seven games. The Montreal blueliner set up two great scoring chances during this dazzling shift during the first period, with Grzelcyk victimized for part of the sequence.

Hutson on even a half decent team would already be a point per game defenceman
