The big offensive guns in the Terriers' lopsided wins last week--forwards Quinn Hutson and Cole Eiserman and defenseman Cole Hutson--were rewarded with Hockey East weekly honors. Quinn earned Player of the Week honors while the two Coles share Rookie of the Week.
With seven points (2G,5A), Quinn was the top point-scorer in Division 1 last week. His 20-26-46 scoring line in 32 games gives him the second highest point total, the top point-per-game mark of 1.44, and new career-highs in all three categories. Quinn has points in 10 of the last 11 games with eight goals and 12 assists in that stretch. It was his third P-O-W win, tying him with Ryan Leonard for the most this season.
Eiserman followed his hattrick in the 8-2 win against Providence with a goal and a primary assist in the 6-1 victory at Vermont. Like Quinn, he reached the 20-goal mark, which leads all D1 freshmen, and no one had more goals than he did last week. With 29 points, he's tied for eighth among all D1 rookies.
Eiserman also earned strong praise from Coach Jay Pandolfo Saturday night, not just for his scoring but also for his physical play and defensive efforts.
No defenseman in D1 had more points (6) or assists (4) than Cole Hutson who recorded a goal and two assists in each win. He also had the best plus/minus (+5) among all blueliners. He's the NCAA rookie scoring leader with 39 points (11G,28A) and is tied for most points among all D1 defensemen.

Hockey East Tournament
With their third place finish, Terriers have a bye into the quarterfinals on Saturday, March 15. They'll meet the highest seeded winner in Wednesday's three opening-round games. BU's QF game at Agganis Arena is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
BU has won the conference tournament 10 times, most recently in 2023 defeating Merrimack, 3-2, in overtime.

Poll Story
Terriers moved up a notch to #9 in the USCHO Division 1 Poll that now has five conference schools in the top 10. The others are BC #1, Maine #4, Providence #7 and UConn #8. UMass, who won and tied with Maine, is #14 and a likely quarterfinal opponent for BU.
In the USA Hockey/The Rink Live Division 1 Poll, BU moved up to #7, jumping over #8 Providence and #9 UConn.
Terriers also moved up from #7 to #6 in the Pairwise Rankings, and improved to #7 in College Hockey News' Power Rankings, based on KRACH.

Mick Frechette and Jack Hughes were players of the game Saturday night.
The 6-1 win over the Catamounts gives BU a sweep of the three games this season with the Terriers outscoring UVM 19-6. The victory also was the 10th in a row over the Cats stretching back to Jan. 22, 2022.
Freshman Mikhail Yegorov has now played the "minimum of 33% of total team minutes" to be included in the NCAA goalie rankings. With a 1.82 GAA and a .936 saves percentage, Big Mike stands at #5 in both categories.

With a pair of assists on Saturday, co-captain Ryan Greene has 99 career points (34G,65A) and is one point away from joining the 100-point club. Quinn Hutson achieved that mark earlier this season and now has 110 points.

Newly-crowned Hockey East Champions learned on Sunday that they'll head to Madison, Wisconsin, for the NCAA Regionals where they'll face Clarkson in first round on Thursday, March 13, at 8 p.m. ESPN+ will carry the live stream. The Golden Knights leads the NCAA in power-play goals with 35 and has the sixth-most goals in the nation with 132.

Terriers moved up from #13 to #11 in the USCHO Women's Division 1 Poll. Clarkson, who lost to Cornell in the ECAC tournament, is ranked #9.
Three Terriers, who were instrumental to BU's winning the Hockey East semifinal and championship game and who were named to the All-Tournament team, now have been named winners of Hockey East Weekly Awards.
Tournament MVP Sydney Healy earned Player of the Week honors, while Captain Tamara Giaquinto is Defender of the Week and Callie Shanahan is Goaltender of the Week.

Looking ahead
2026 recruit Rian Chudzinski scored a pair of goals for Dexter-Southfield in the NEPSAC Elite Eight Championship game, but Cushing rallied late in the third period for a 4-3 win. (video)

Chudzinski came oh-so-close to winning Elite 8 MVP. The Boston University commit was outstanding in all three games. His goal against Salisbury kick-started the comeback. He smothered Rivers with two goals and an assist. In the final, he put up two more goals. He was the most dominant player on the ice at all times and brought his best when it mattered most.In the championship game, they added:
Despite the loss, Chudzinski was dominant. The Boston University commit had Dexter’s first two goals and capped off a season in which he was one of the best players in the region. En route to the final, he had a goal against Salisbury and four points to beat Rivers. There’s a reason the Dexter student section consistently chanted “We have Chudzi.”
Dexter's leading scorer finished the season with a 26-26-52 scoring line in 27 games, just shy of two points per game.

Looking back
At the three-quarter mark of the NHL season, Lane Hutson is the front-runner for the league's Calder Trophy as top first-year player.
Hutson received 69 voting points (six first-place votes) from NHL.com's 16-person panel. He edged out San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini, who was second with 66 points (seven first-place votes).
Hutson and Celebrini were teammates at Boston University in Hockey East last season.
"Pick them both ... co-Calder Trophy winners," Boston University coach Jay Pandolfo said. "One forward, one defenseman, and those are the two guys. It's been so fun to watch those guys play at that level and the success they're having. I'm just so proud. Both have such a passion for the game, they want to improve and want to get better and want to make an impact.
"I'm sure, not too long down the road, we'll see both of them representing their countries in the type of tournament we watched with the 4 Nations Face-Off. They'll be there and will deserve to be there because of the type of players they are."
