Prior to their arrival at BU, the duo spent two seasons playing for USA Hockey’s NTDP program and led the team to the World U18 championship game in 2007. Last year, Wilson played for the U.S. WJC team and led the squad in goals, scoring 6 of the team’s 21.
If Team USA advances to the medal round, Shattenkirk and Wilson will likely miss the Terriers’ post-New Year’s Day trip to Colorado for The Denver Cup tournament (Jan. 2-3). In Ottawa, they’ll be reunited with many of their NTDP teammates, including UNH forward James Van Riemsdyk and BC forward Jimmy Hayes.
