Clendening and Coyle pace U.S. exhibition win against Slovakia

Charlie Coyle scored twice and Adam Clendening assisted on two goals in Team USA’s 5-0 shutout of Slovakia in its final exhibition game prior to the World Junior Championships. The pair combined to put the US on the board in the game’s first minute when Coyle tipped home Clendening’s slapper. The late in the first period, Brandon Saad redirected a Clendening pass. Coyle closed out the scoring with an even-strength goal midway through the second period.

Looking back
College Hockey Weekly continues to unveil its ranking of the top 25 greatest NCAA hockey teams of all times. Two of BU’s national championship teams had previously been named to the list: the 1994-1995 title team was #25 and BU’s first championship squad, 1970-1971, was #24. Now, the first of the three title teams coached by Jack Parker, 1977-1978, has been pegged #11.
