Four Terriers were named to the HockeyEastOnline list of Top Performers for the past weekend: Grant Rollheiser, who shut out Vermont on Friday; Sean Escobedo, who scored a pair of goals in that game, Wade Megan (photo), who scored in both games and tied up Saturday’s game in the final minute and half, and Alexx Privitera, whose fourth goal of the season—and second game-winner—gave BU the overtime win on Saturday.HockeyEastOnline’s weekly release also notes that “After going 199 periods of play between the first and second goals of his career, junior Sean Escobedo waited less than 10 minutes to score again thanks to his two-goal second period on Friday at Vermont.”
BU’s top scorer, Alex Chiasson, played his 100th college game Friday. After his assists on Saturday—on Megan’s game-tying goal and Privitera’s GWG—he has 90 career points.
With the sweep in Vermont, BU extends its road game winning-streak in conference games to 10.
Polls and rankings
Terriers moved up a notch to #4 in the USCHO weekly poll, and two notches up to #4 in the USA Today poll . In the Pairwise Rankings, BU is tied for fourth with Ferris State and Lowell. The INCH Power Rankings have BU 6th.

Looking ahead
2013 recruit Kevin Duane led The Brunswick School to the Empire Cup championship at Trinity Pawling, scoring a pair of goals in a 5-2 semifinal win against Wyoming Seminary and two more in the 7-4 championship game victory against Albany Academy.
2012 recruit Mike Moran scored his eighth goal and added an assist in a 7-4 Bay State win against Capital District.
Looking back
2008-09 co-captain and Hobey Baker Award winner Matt Gilroy was traded today from Tampa Bay to Ottawa in a one-for-one swap for defenseman Brian Lee. The Senators will be in Boston tomorrow to play the Bruins.
David Warsofsky, who is tied for the Providence Bruins scoring lead among defensemen talked with the Patriot-Ledger about his standout first pro season.
Women’s program
Terriers advanced to the Hockey East semifinals by thumping New Hampshire, 9-1, in a game that featured several record setting performances. Senior captain Jenn Wakefield led the way with her second hattrick of the season and an assist. She now has 51 points on the season and 200 points for her college career, which began with two seasons skating for the Wildcats.
Junior Isabel Menard and sophomore Marie-Philip Poulin each contributed a goal and two assist while Carly Warren and Louis Warren each had 1+1.
Wakefield is the second WHEA player to reach the 200-point plateau.The nine-goal outburst established a new BU record for post-season scoring and the three short-handed goals the Terriers registered are a new conference playoff record.
BU will take on Boston College in one semifinal while top-seed Northeastern meets Providence in the other semi. The Women’s Hockey East Association’s semifinals and finals will be hosted by the Hyannis Youth and Community Center at Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Rink on Saturday, March 3rd and Sunday, March 4th in Hyannis, Mass.
Wakefield’s heroics earned Hockey East Player of the Week honors, while freshman Kayla Tutino (three assists) was named Rookie of the Week.
