On the heels of David Quinn being named an Avalanche assistant to Joe Sacco, there have been two more coaching moves with BU ties.
UMass coach Don “Toot”
Cahoon, a former Terrier forward and later an assistant to Jack Parker, has stepped
down after a dozen years behind the Minutemen bench. Cahoon led UMass to the program's first NCAA tournament appearance in 2006-07. As a player, he was a speed-burning forward and a key contributor to BU’s back-to-back
NCAA titles in 1971 and 1972. His other coaching stops included Princeton and
Norwich.

Blaise MacDonald, a former
BU associate head coach and Niagara and Lowell head coach, has assumed the head
spot at Division 3 Colby College. MacDonald has spent last season assisting
Cahoon in Amherst. Legendary BU coach Jack Kelley led
the Mules for seven years and each NCAA Coach of the Year recognition before
beginning his ten-year stint at BU.
