BU today announced its
26-man roster for the 2012-13 season and that senior/grad student Ryan Ruikka (photo)
will serve as the team’s assistant captain. Senior Wade Megan was announced as
captain last spring. The roster now shows ten freshmen with the addition of
walk-on Nick Breed, an all-state forward from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, who scored
34 goals—tops in Western Class B—and 17 assists.
If Cape Elizabeth sounds familiar
to longtime fans, it’s the hometown of former BU captain and NHLer Doug Friedman,
who also was a walk-on.

East recruit classes, College Hockey News has ranked the BU freshman class #1.

2013 recruit Kevin Duane
scored an unassisted goal for Waterloo in its 4-2 win
over Muskegon in the USHL Fall Classic.

6th ranked BU was
voted second by league coaches in the WHEA
pre-season poll. The Terriers, who defeated Providence in double overtime
for the 2012 Hockey East tournament title, picked up three first place votes
while arch-rival BC received five. BU’s season begins on Sept. 30 with an
exhibition game against McGill at Walter Brown Arena.
