#9 Terriers begin defense of their Beanpot tournament title
as the 64th edition of the battle for bragging rights in Boston
begins tonight. In an 8 p.m. start, BU takes on the team it defeated in last
year’s championship game, Northeastern.
This semifinal as well as the BC-Harvard semi, beginning at 5 p.m., will
air on NESN and in Canada on TSN.
The Huskies have turned their fortunes around since being
swept by BU (5-4 at Agganis, 4-1 at Matthews) and bring a six-game winning
streak into the tournament. Junior Zach Alston-Reese is their top point-scorer
with 16, while sophomore Nolan Stevens has 10 goals and the ever-dangerous
Kevin Roy recently returned to the line-up following an injury layoff. Freshman
Ryan Ruck has taken over the goaltending chores.
