Game Day: Terriers visit Vermont; Women host Catamounts

#13 Terriers take on Vermont in the first of a two-game series at Gutterson Field House. Puck drop is at 6 p.m. for the contest, which will be live-streamed. BU (6-2-0) is coming off a split with BC. The Eagles are in first place in the conference based on the new Hockey East Power Index, while the Terriers are second.

The 1-5-2 Catamounts, who like the Terriers have only played eight games, have been on pause since splitting a home series with Maine on Jan. 8 & 9

Freshman forward Ray Vitolins (1-5-6) and senior defenseman Christian Evers (4-1-5) lead the UVM offense. After four seasons facing standout goalie Stefanos Lekkas, BU will see a new netminder, senior Tyler Harmon, who has a 3.30 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Todd Woodcroft is the first-year Vermont coach, having succeeded Kevin Sneddon.

BU’s top scorer with 14 points is senior defenseman David Farrance, who is not expected to be in the line-up. Other top scorers include freshman Luke Tuch (4-3-7), and sophomores Jay O’Brien (3-3-6) and Alex Vlasic (2-4-6). Sophomore goalie Ashton Abel was in goal for the overtime loss to BC last Friday, while freshman Vinny Duplessis earned the win the next night in his NCAA debut.
