A Trio of All-Stars; Inside BU Hockey--Pandolfo & Stevens

Three Terrier standouts--defensemen Dom Fensore and Lane Hutson and forward Matt Brown--were named Hockey East First-Team All-Stars. They were joined on the first team by Northeastern goalie Devon Levi, Merrimack forward Alex Jeffries and Northeastern forward Aidan McDonough.


With a 9-18-27 scoring line, Fensore was second among conference defensemen in goals and third in points. His nine goals were a career-high.  He had a career-best +11 with 35 shots blocked and earned Defender of the Week honors twice.

Hutson, a unanimous pick for the All-Rookie team, became the first defenseman to lead the conference in scoring with nine goals and 25 assists in 24 games. He also co-led in overall scoring among Hockey East skaters with 43 points that included a league best 31 assists. Hutson was Player of the Month in January, a two-time Defender of the Month and a six-time Rookie of the Week. He also was national Rookie of the Month in January.

Brown set career best marks in goals with 15, assists with 28 and points with 43, en route to tying Hutson for most overall points on the Terriers among league skaters. Averaging 1.30 points per game, seventh best in D1, he had 11 multipoint games, including three 4-point efforts. 

Wilmer Skoog, who scored 23 of his 27 points in conference games, including three game-winners. earned a spot on the third team.

The only previous time both first-team defensemen came from the same school was 2006-07 when Matt Gilroy and Sean Sullivan were selected and joined by goalie John Curry. BU also had three first-team selections in 2007-08: Gilroy, Bryan Ewing and Peter MacArthur.

Hockey East will announce finalists for the Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year awards on Monday, March 13.

Looking ahead

2023 recruit Shane Lachance assisted on a pair of goals as Youngstown edged Green Bay, 3-2. The 6'4" power forward has a 26-16-42 scoring line for the Phantoms.    

Looking back

Jordan Greenway's first goal as a Sabre came against his Terrier teammate, Jake Oettinger, in Dallas' 10-4 thumping of Buffalo. Oettinger stopped 25 of 29 shots to gain his 27th win, tied for 4th among NHL goalies.  

Clayton Keller assisted on a pair of goals--his 38th and 39th helpers--in Arizona's 4-1 win against Nashville.
