Cole Eiserman and Cole Hutson each scored second-period
goals in the IIHF World U18 Championship gold medal game, but Canada took
advantage of a major penalty in the third period and stormed past Team USA, 6-4.
Eiserman’s power-play goal, assisted by Hutson on a slick entry move, was his 127th career score, setting a new NTDP program record. It gave the U.S. a 2-1 lead.

Hutson led all tournament defensemen in scoring (as he also did a year ago) with a 4-9-13 scoring line. He was named to the all-tournament team and also received the Directorate Award as Best Defender. In addition, he was U.S. player of the game.
Eiserman tied for second in goals with nine and finished the tournament with 11 points. Kamil Bednarik had five points (2G,3A).
In addition to the program record for goals, Eiserman now is second on the career points list with 192, trailing on Jack Hughes.
Sweden defeated Slovakia to claim the bronze medal, although Alexander Zetterberg remained sidelined with an injur.
