Hockey East also announced a partnership with 49ing AG to launch a first-of-its-kind pilot program bringing AI-powered video and data analytics to college hockey for the 2024-25 season.

All men’s and women’s programs, coaching staffs, and student-athletes will have access to 49ing’s Hockey AI software when the puck drops later this month. In collaboration with Hockey East, 49ing will also roll-out newly developed AI-powered features over the course of the season to further improve the experience.

The Grand Forks Herald provides a final report on player movements in the transfer portal heading into the 2024-25 season. Three Terriers left for new teams: Ty Gallagher to Colorado College and Thomas Jarman and Henry Graham to Lindenwood.

Looking ahead

2025 recruit Jonathan Morello assisted on three first-period goals as Dubuque completed a sweep of Chicago with a 6-4 win. He also led the team with six shots. With a 2-4-6 line in four pre-season games, the Bruins 2024 draft pick is the Fighting Saints’ top scorer.   Video highlights

2025 recruit Zach Morin scored a goal in Youngstown’s 8-5 win against the NTDP U18s. Fellow recruit Conrad Fondrk had a goal and an assist—both on power plays—for the U18s, while Charlie Trethewey added an assist for Team USA and had a third-period dust-up with future teammate Morin.

As it begins prospect evaluations for the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, Neutral Zone presents a strong assessment of 6'2", 196 lbs. right-shot defenseman Trethewey, projecting him to be a likely top-five pick.

Trethewey projects as a top-pairing, two-way defenseman at the NHL level, capable of playing key minutes in all situations. His ability to impact the game in all three zones, combined with his physicality and high-end puck-moving skills, makes him an enticing prospect with the potential to become a cornerstone defenseman for an NHL team. If he can address the areas for improvement in his game, particularly his lateral mobility and offensive consistency, Trethewey has the potential to develop into a top-five selection in the 2025 NHL Draft and a long-term impact player at the professional level.

Luke Tuch media availability at Montreal rookie camp

From St. Louis Blues rookie camp, via The Hockey News:

Dylan Peterson -- The third round pick in 2020 had himself another solid prospects game.

Peterson, listed at 6-foot-4, 192 pounds, was once again a menace with his under-the-radar speed, his physical presence in protecting pucks, a solid forecheck and proper puck placement. It was the second straight strong game for the Boston University product, who will attend main camp beginning Thursday.

In the Rookie Faceoff in El Segundo, Calif., Vinny Duplessis stopped 43 shots for Colorado in a 4-3 loss to Anaheim.

The Athletic How did Macklin Celebrini’s Sharks rookie-game teammates assess him? ‘Second to none’

“It’s crazy,” said Ethan Cardwell, a 2021 draft pick who was among the top players for the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda last season. “It’s wild. The way he moves. Even his physical presence himself. He’s a big boy for his age and he skates so well. The way he makes plays and processes the game is second to none. That’s why he went first overall and we’re happy to have him.”

TSN caught up with Webber at Maple Leafs rookie camp to talk about spending time in Toronto during last year's playoffs and preparing for the upcoming season.

Boston University product Cade Webber finished last season with the Leafs where he got a sense of what the fan base is like during the Stanley Cup playoffs. "Obviously it could be pressure, but the pressure is exciting," the 6-foot-7 defenceman said. "You want to make a difference here in the city."

Florida Signs Wilmer Skoog to NHL ...

Skoog, coming off a strong season in the AHL, is ranked by McKeen's Hockey as the Panthers' 15th best prospect.

Hard work and determination earned Skoog an NHL deal from Florida this year after he played last season on an AHL deal with Charlotte. However, the big forward’s goal scoring prowess may have had something to do with that too. After starting the season in the ECHL, Skoog worked his way up to a key role with the Checkers and ended up tying for the team lead in goals with Samoskevich. He does his damage near the crease and is best as a support player.

2025 recruit Jonathan Morello scored a power play goal and assisted on the game-winner as Dubuque defeated Chicago, 5-3

Morello did a little bit of everything on Friday night. The Toronto native recorded two points and dropped the gloves with Chicago's Noah Lapointe, which ultimately led to a 5v3 power play for Dubuque, on which Morello scored.

The Hockey News: Top Performers.

McKeen's Hockey has ranked Morello, a fifth-round Bruins draft pick this past June, as the team's 15th best prospect.

15. Jonathan Morello

A fifth round selection by the Bruins in 2024, Morello is a very intriguing project due to his size and speed combination. He is lightning quick, plays with some jam, and shows upside as a goal scorer. After playing in the OJHL previously, Morello will suit up for Dubuque of the USHL next year before making a larger jump to Clarkson the following season

2025 recruit Callum Hughes scored a power-play goal, assisted by fellow recruit and linemate Jack Pridham as West Kelowna edged Penticton, 4-3 in overtime. Hughes, a 6'1" left-shot center from Westwood, Mass., also assisted on the game-winner.

2026 recruit Luke Schairer assisted on the NTDP U17s first goal in a 5-2 loss to New Mexico.
