Terriers skate past Lowell

BU completed a season sweep of UMass-Lowell last night with a 3-1 victory at Agganis Arena. Continuing his standout play in goal, Kieran Millan stopped 30 shots including a third-period clean breakaway. The junior from Alberta nearly notched his first shutout of the season, but with less than two minutes to go, the RiverHawks turned a two-man advantage into a 6-on-3 by pulling their goalie and put one past Millan.

BU's came on a Max Nicastro one-timer on a power play, Garrett Noonan's (photo) conversion of backdoor pass from Corey Trivino and co-captain Joe Pereira's tip of an Adam Clendening blast, also on a power play. Millan earned the game's first star for the fourth consecutive game.

Next up for BU is Monday's opening round of the Beanpot in the late game against arch-rival Boston College.
