Senior
captain Matt Grzelyck is back at Bruins development camp, but not on the ice, as
the first-team All-American is recovering from ACL surgery performed in May.
Grzelcyk, a third-round pick in the 2012 NHL draft, had played through a knee
injury during the final eight games of the season before learning that surgery
would be needed.
A CSNE report indicates he won’t resume
skating until August and is likely to miss time early in the upcoming season.
In addition to all six of last year's blueline regulars returning this season, the defense
corps will be bolstered by freshmen Charlie McAvoy, who has been projected as a
potential first-round pick in next June’s NHL draft, and AJHL standout Shane
Switzer.
Grzelcyk
scored a career best 38 points last season with ten goals, including the
overtime game-winner (video) in the Beanpot
Championship game.
►Sophomore
Brandon Hickey appeared on The Pipeline Show Tuesday night and
discussed his goal of increasing his offensive contributions this coming season. Also
guesting on TPS was Sean MacTavish, who indicated that it remained undecided
whether he would join the Terrier freshman class.

Jack
Eichel wasn’t the only former Terrier to impress at Sabres development camp.
Evan Rodrigues earned kudos for his performance, including a highlight reel shootout goal, from The
Hockey Writers.

.@BUwhockey has
scored 1,111 goals in program history. I guess they wanted to match their order
of finish in the last four WHEA tournaments.
