Moving on up

Terriers move up to #2 in both national polls after Saturday’s 6-1 win against Colgate. BU received five first-place votes (out of 50) in the USCHO poll and six first-place votes (out of 34) in the USA Today/USA Hockey Poll.  BU’s next opponent, Denver, dropped both games at the IceBreaker Tournament, which the Pioneers hosted, and fell to #10 in both polls. BU also is #2 in the weekly poll from ESPN's John Buccigross.
Following the win at Colgate, three Terrier rookies were named to Hockey East’s Weekly Top Performers: Patrick Harper (photo, two goals); Clayton Keller (a goal and an assist) and Jake Oettinger (29 saves).

Terriers dropped a 3-2 decision to Vermont on Sunday in Gutterson Field House in Burlington. The Catamounts jumped to a 2-1 lead after one with senior Samantha Sutherland scoring for BU, assisted by sophomore Sammy Davis and freshman Abby Cook. Sutherland's second goal—and seventh of the season—tied the score midway through the third, but Vermont replied with the game-winner just minutes later and held on for the win. Goalie Victoria Hanson stopped 36 shots for BU, which falls to 2-1-0.
