UPDATED Game Day: Terriers vs. Eagles for the Hockey East crown

The Battle of Comm Ave has moved back to Legends Way. #2 Terriers will attempt to take down #1 BC again at TD Garden as they did almost seven weeks ago in the Beanpot opening round. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. NESN will air the game while ESPN+ and TSN+ will provide live streams.

Defending champion Terriers will be gunning for their 11th tournament title while BC will be seeking its 12th.

The Eagles swept a home-and-home series with BU in January, winning 4-1 (with two ENGs) at Conte Forum and then 4-3 at Agganis Arena.

Both teams enter tonight's championship game on long winning streaks. BU has won its last seven games and is 10-1-1 since February 1. BC is riding an 11-game unbeaten streak. It's last loss was 4-3 to BU in the Beanpot.

“Playing against BC, you have to manage your puck through the neutral zone, in your zone, you gotta make sure you’re advancing pucks north,” Coach Jay Pandolfo said following BU's semifinal win over Maine. “Tonight we didn’t do a good enough job at advancing pucks at certain times, so tomorrow night, that’s a key.”

“I’m sure it’s gonna be obviously a crazy atmosphere like it always is, but we’re going to be ready,” said Ryan Greene, who scored twice in Friday night's win. “It’s always exciting playing those guys and to get to play them in the Hockey East Championship makes it even more special.”

The contest will feature two of D1's top offenses: BC with 4.50 GPG is second, while BU with 4.11 is fifth. Each team's high-powered offense features two of the ten Hobey Baker Award finalists: Macklin Celebrini and Lane Hutson for the Terriers and Cutter Gauthier and Will Smith for the Eagles.

BU's power play is clicking at a conference-best 28.8%, while the Eagles' penalty has a 90.0 success rate, tops in D1.

Tonight's game will mark the third time the Green Line rivals will meet for the the conference tournament title in Hockey East's 40 seasons. In 1986, BU thumped the Eagles, 9-4, when the tournament was played at the Providence Civic Center. Twenty seasons later at TD Garden, the Terriers edged BC for the title, 2-1, on Brandon Yip's overtime goal
