The final transfer on the 2024-25 roster will be grad student Billy Girard, who will back up Matthieu Caron and Max Lacroix. A 6’1”, 200 lb., native of Boca Raton, Fla., Girard graduated from the University of New England where he held down the starting goalie job for three seasons. He earned 2nd team league all-star honors in both his junior and senior years, and recorded a 2.0 GAA and .928 save percentage last season.

He was named a semifinalist for the 2024 Joe Concannon Award, given annually to the best American-born Division II/III men's hockey player.

In 2021-22, Girard backstopped the Nor’easters to the Commonwealth Conference championship and then to Division 3 Frozen Four. He rang up a 21-4-1 record with a 2.35 GAA and a .912 save percentage. The following season, Girard paced a second-semester run that took UNE to the NCAA national semifinal.

Prior to UNE, Girard played for the Boston Jr. Ranger, earning EHL Goalie of the Year and First-Team all-star honors in 2019-20.
