Coyle hattrick leads rout of Denmark

Charlie Coyle scored the first and last goals with one more in between to power Team USA’s 11-3 thumping of Denmark in a World Junior Championships preliminary round game. He continues to wield a hot stick, having also scored three goals in the final two exhibition games. Sophomore defenseman Adam Clendening produced another strong effort for Team USA with a pair of assists. Next up for the U.S. is a Wednesday meeting with Finland. (photo credit, Andy Devlin, IIHF)

Former Terrier Keith Tkachuk was inducted to the Phoenix Coyotes Ring of Honor this past Friday during the Coyotes game with St. Louis. Tkachuk was drafted No. 19 overall in 1990 by the Winnipeg Jets, who moved to Phoenix in 1996. He scored 179 goals in 332 games in five seasons with the Coyotes before his trade to the Blues in 2001. “Captain Coyote” led the NHL in goal-scoring 1996-97 and had two 50-goal seasons.
