Timely goals--UPDATED

Nick Bonino’s power play goal proved to be the game-winner as Anaheim thumped Detroit, 4-0, to take a 2-1 lead over the Red Wings in their first round playoff series. It was Bonino’s second playoff goal.

Alex Chiasson’s second-period goal produced the margin of victory for the Texas Stars in a 2-1 win against Milwaukee. It was Chiasson’s second consecutive game-winner and enabled the Stars to eliminate the Admirals, three games to one, and move on to the Western Conference final in the AHL Calder Cup playoffs.

Recently retired BU head coach Jack Parker was honored at the American Hockey Coaches Association 2013 Convention in Naples, Florida, for his outstanding career and contributions to the game. Michigan State coach Tom Anastos tweeted that Parker “gave a terrific speech.”

Looking ahead
2013 recruit Jarrid Privitera scored the game-winning goal and added an assist as Dubuque blanked Youngstown, 4-0, and advanced to the USHL Clarke Cup finals.
