Game Day: BU vs. UMass Lowell--UPDATED



Terriers host #6 UMass Lowell today in the first meeting of the teams this season. Puck drop at Agganis Arena is set for 2 p.m. The first-place River Hawks moved two points ahead of BU in the Hockey East standings after blanking Maine on Friday, 2-0.

Lowell’s balanced offense is led by freshman C.J. Smith with 18 points (7G, 11A) and sophomore Evan Campbell with 17 points ( 6G, 11A). Junior goalie Kevin Boyle, a transfer from Massachusetts, has a 2.11 GAA and a .924 save percentage.

BU's point leader is freshman Jack Eichel, while junior Danny O'Regan is tied for the national lead in goals with 15. Senior assistant captain Evan Rodrigues (photo) has nine points (2G, 7A) in his last five games. Matt Grzelcyk's +17 rating is tied for third in the nation.

In their last meeting (February, 2014), the teams skated to a 2-2 tie. Matt Ronan scored his first and only collegiate goal to knot the score in the third period.

Coach David Quinn has tweaked his second, third and fourth lines for today's game, leaving the blueline corps unchanged.

Women’s Team
#6 Terriers meet cross-town rival Northeastern in the final regular season game between the teams. Puck drop at NU’s Matthews Arena is at 2 p.m. BU won the first match-up in October, 3-2, while the Huskies took a 6-3 decision in November. 

BU, 13-5-2 overall and 9-3-0 in the conference, is led by junior forward Sarah Lefort with 28 points (14G, 14A) and senior captain Marie-Philip Poulin with 20 (13G, 7A)
