Game Day: BU hosts BC; 1978 National Champions’ reunite at Agganis

The Battle of Comm Ave. resumes tonight as the Terriers host #15 BC following BU's 7-4 win at Conte Forum last night. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. for the contest that will be live streamed on TerrierTV.  BU will seek to achieve something they haven’t done since early in the season: win two consecutive regular-season games. They’ll also look to extend the streak of regular-season wins against the Eagles, which has now reached four.

This season marks the 100th anniversary of college hockey's greatest hockey rivalry--BU vs. BC--which began in February of 1918. After 275 meetings, the Terriers lead the series, 134-123-18 (.520).

Also on tap tonight is the 40-year reunion of BU’s 1978 National Championship team. Coach Jack Parker, his assistants and virtually all of the players from the ’77-’78 squad that went 30-2-0 will be recognized during the second intermission of the contest. Newly discovered video of the title game, a 5-3 win against BC, will be shown on the giant video screen. During and after the game, copies of Tim Rappleye’s chronicle of that championship, Jack Parker’s Wiseguys, will be on sale with book signing set for the Agganis Arena lobby after the game.
