Medicine Hat right wing Ryder Ritchie made his commitment to BU official Sunday with an Instagram video featuring clips of his next coach, Jay Pandolfo, other Terrier greats including Chris Drury, Danny O’Regan, Lane Hutson and Jake Oettinger, and a scene from BU’s 2009 national championship.
A 2024 second-round pick by Minnesota, Ritchie had 61 points (29G,32A) in 53 games for the Tigers last season, then added 18 points in 18 playoff games, helping Medicine Hat reach the Memorial Cup championship game. He helped Canada win gold at the Hlinka-Gretsky Tournament and the World U18s in 2023-24 and the previous year was the WHL’s Rookie of the Year with 55 points in 61 games.

►Jack Pridham, who had initially committed to BU in 2022, has decommitted and will return to OHL Kitchener for another season and reportedly is planning to turn pro with Chicago the following season.
Legendary BU Coach Jack Parker joined veteran sports reporters Bob Lobel and Mike Lynch for a far- reaching interview that covered his recent election to the Hockey Hall of Fame and his forty-year career behind the Terrier bench. As Terrier fans know, no one can tell a story quite like JP.
Blackhawks prospect Sacha Boisvert experienced “a lot of emotions” when he found out that Brad Berry - who recruited him - was fired at North Dakota.tw-align-center
Now, he will play for Jay Pandolfo at BU where he should have a huge year.

Looking back
Alex Chiasson, who served as a volunteer coach for the Terriers last season, is guest coaching at the Capitals’ development camp where Cole Hutson is participating. Chiasson won the Stanley Cup with Washington in 2018. He completed his BU degree this past winter and walked with the graduates in May.
Shane Bowers has been traded by New Jersey to San Jose. An Ottawa first-round draft pick in 2017, the Halifax, N.S., native had made stops in Colorado and Boston before being dealt to the Devils in 2023. As a Terrier freshman in 2017-18, he produced 32 points (17G,15A) to help BU win the Hockey East Championship and earned All-Rookie honors. Bowers turned pro following his sophomore season.
He set up Patrick Curry's overtime game-winner in the Hockey East semifinal against BC.
